Let one of our specialists create your dream holiday at Dominica Discovery. Call 020 3131 0169 A holiday to Dominica is all about experiencing the island's unspoiled natural wonders. To help you get the most out of your stay here, we've put together an itinerary featuring the very best of what Dominica has to offer. Our itinerary is intended simply to guide and inspire you; we will be happy to tailor-make a personalised itinerary to cater to your own individual interests. Day 1 On arrival into Melville Hall Airport you'll be met and transferred to the Fort Young Hotel. Day 2 After breakfast, depart for Dominica's famous Champagne Beach. Named after the bubbles that escape from the underwater volcanic vents, snorkelling here is a fascinating experience. From here we proceed to Ti Tou Gorge where an exhilarating swim up the narrow gorge ends at a breathtaking waterfall. After the gorge, a short drive takes us on through the picturesque countryside to the spectacular Trafalgar Falls. These twin falls are unique in that the water from one is cold and the other is hot, coming directly from the island's famous Boiling Lake. Walk to the base of the waterfalls to take a refreshing dip or bathe in the hot pools. From here, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight at Fort Young. Day 3 Enjoy a morning at leisure; have a swim in Fort Young's oceanfront pool or take a walk around Roseau to explore the old colonial buildings and local markets. In the afternoon, we set off on a Whale & Dolphin Safari where you'll have a good chance of spotting sperm whales and various species of dolphin. In the evening, transfer to Jungle Bay, your base for the next 5 nights. Day 4 After an early morning yoga class and a nutritious breakfast, we depart on the historic Perdu Temps hike. A scenic hike through rivers and forest takes you to a local organic farm. Pick your own fruit off the trees and find out about the healing properties of the different tropical plants. In the afternoon take part in a Caribbean cookery class and learn how to create your own delicious Caribbean dishes. Day 5 After breakfast, we set off for the beautiful Victoria Falls. Walk along and through the White River, climb boulders up to the falls and finish with a refreshing swim beneath the thunderous falls. Return to the hotel for lunch and a soothing spa treatment. In the afternoon, relax by the pool or join a Dominican drumming class where you'll learn to play traditional music on authentic Dominican drums. Day 6 Experienced hikers may want to attempt the challenging hike to the Boiling Lake today. One of Dominica's most famous natural attractions and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the 6 hour round trip is arduous but extremely rewarding. Alternatively, spend the morning ocean kayaking and snorkelling in the turquoise waters of Grande Bay and, in the afternoon, enjoy an easy guided nature walk to the White River and Atlantic Ocean. Day 7 If you hiked to the Boiling Lake yesterday, you may want to take it easy today. Have a spa treatment, relax by the pool or snooze in a hammock on the ocean terrace. If you're still feeling energetic, there's the option to hike to the Sari Sari Waterfall or explore the hotel's Zom Zom hiking trail which takes you to a local fishing point with spectacular views over the Atlantic Coast. Day 8 Transfer to Melville Hall Airport for your flight home, or continue your Dominican experience with a few days by the beach at Calibishie Cove.
