View Larger Map A British Crown Colony, the islands are surrounded by one of the world’s longest coral reefs, making them a diving and snorkelling paradise. Along with eight main islands there are literally hundreds of uninhabited cays, giving the islands a real sense of adventure and exploration. Grace Bay is regularly voted one of the world’s finest beaches and there are many other fabulous, mostly deserted, beaches to choose from. Our selected resorts are in Providenciales (known as Provo) in the west of the Caicos group. You’ll find accommodation is of a high standard and the islands also boast one of the most picturesque golf courses in the region. Out and About Wherever you stay, we would encourage you to get out and explore these beautiful islands. Here are a few suggested activities: • Snorkelling and diving amongst the fabulous reefs is an unforgettable experience. • Provo’s championship golf course is one of the best in the Caribbean. • Known as Iguana Island, Little Water Cay is home to around 50,000 rock iguanas. • Whale watching tours, deep sea fishing and bone fishing are all available. • Visit Grand Turk, the tiny capital, and visit the wonderful museum with a fascinating history of the island. • Visit the world’s only conch farm on Provo. Food and Drink You’ll find the food here is so fresh, as the seafood is caught off the islands and a wide range of fruit and vegetables are grown locally. The local bay berries are also used to make a delicious wine. Lobsters are so common that the islands actually export them. Do try cracked conch which is deep fried. You’ll also find conch is served in chowder, fritter and curries. If dining out, we can recommend Anacaona at Grace Bay Club, Simba at Turks & Caicos Club and the sublime cuisine at Parrot Cay. On Wednesday evenings, Smokie’s on the Beach is great for a casual fish-fry. We can also recommend Mango Reef, Banana Boat Grille and Grace’s Cottage. Getting There British Airways operates weekly flights to and from Providenciales via Nassau. Total flying time is approximately 12 hrs 10 minutes. Departures are from Heathrow on Sundays on B767 aircraft with World Traveller, World Traveller Plus and Club World cabins. Complimentary regional add-ons from selected airports are included, subject to availability. There are also daily flights from Heathrow to Miami with a connecting flight to Providenciales with American Airlines. Note: All our inclusive holiday prices are based on British Airways World Traveller flights to Providenciales.

Turks & Caicos Conch Festival Who would have thought that this small pink shell would have a festival all of its own! But every year, in November, the Turks & Caicos islanders celebrate the humble conch, an important source of food, tools and ceremonial objects since the distant days of the Arawak Indians. Take a deep breath and try your luck at the popular conch-blowing contest…
