Family Fun April 12, 2023

Round up the whole clan and escape to a destination that promises a mixture of adventure, relaxation, and fun for everyone. From travelling with toddlers or teenagers, to multi-generational getaways, we understand that planning a luxury family holiday is all about striking the perfect balance for every generation. Here is a selection of our family favourites...

St Peter’s Bay Luxury Resort & Residences, Barbados

Situated on a tranquil stretch of beach on the island’s northwest coast, the beautiful beachfront residences at Saint Peter’s Bay offer a stylish and contemporary home from home, alongside mesmerising Caribbean Sea views. With a choice of one, two, three or five bedrooms, with modern finishes, spacious living areas and generous terraces with breathtaking views, families will have plenty of space to spread out. The resort’s dedicated concierge team will thoroughly pamper and spoil you during your stay, and you’ll enjoy world-class amenities including a 160ft lagoon-style pool, generous range of watersports, and kids’ activity centre.

St Peters Bay is designed to be a place where families can get away and come together. From arts and crafts to indoor and outdoor parks, or even to sea turtle education, there’s always something going on to engage the children’s minds, bodies and souls. Offering adult supervision and leadership, the various kids play centres allow the whole family to engage in their favourite activities before coming together to share their stories of adventure.

St James’s Club & Villas, Antigua

Tucked away on a secluded peninsula with 100 beautiful acres of gently swaying palms, two white-sand beaches and a huge range of facilities, families love this ever-popular resort. The accommodation offers a real feeling of ‘home from home’ with a choice of rooms, spacious suites or two- and three- bedroom villas which are perfect for families. There is an award-winning ‘kidz club’ and an extensive range of watersports and activities to help you build up an appetite which will be rewarded at the resort’s five restaurants.

The extensive facilities here include six swimming pools (including a children’s pool, one for adults only and one reserved exclusively for guests staying in the Royal Suites), four tennis courts, fitness centre and complimentary non-motorised watersports. The Tranquillity Spa features six treatment rooms, an outdoor treatment area and a beauty salon. The popular Kidz Club is open daily and offers a wide range of daytime activities for children aged 4-11 yrs; an evening programme also operates during peak times. There is an open-air Teen Club on the beach at Mamora Bay and, for younger children, babysitting services are available at a local charge.

The Verandah Resort & Spa, Antigua

With a stunning setting on Antigua's pristine north east coast, this eco-friendly resort is ideal for couples, friends or families. Offering two sheltered beaches, a range of watersports, excellent kids' club and a rejuvenating spa, there's something for everyone at this popular hotel.

The Verandah is a great choice for families. They offer lots of facilities, so people tend to stay within the resort. For that reason, I wouldn't say that it would suit people looking to explore Antigua, but in terms of value for money, it’s great. The all-inclusive package that they run is very comprehensive, and includes all meals, drinks and water sports. The resort also has a good kids' club, and is perhaps the only Caribbean resort we have come across that has a crazy golf course!

There are 3 free-form swimming pools (one for adults only) and two gorgeous white sand beaches. Other amenities include a fitness centre, tennis courts, beach volleyball, spa and salon, mini golf and non-motorised watersports, including sailing, windsurfing, snorkelling and kayaks. The hotel can also arrange scuba diving at sister resort St James's Club. The Kids' Club, for children aged 2-11 yrs, organises activities ranging from art classes to nature trails, and there is a shaded adventure playground and kids' splash pool.

Blue Waters Resort & Spa, Antigua

It won’t take you long to discover why this charming resort remains such a favourite amongst Caribtours clients and our staff. Set in 17 acres of gardens on a secluded cove, at Blue Waters Resort & Spa, you’ll find yourself instantly relaxing into the resort’s elegant, Caribbean ambience. The emphasis here is on friendly service and traditional West Indian hospitality, so whether you’re one of the resort’s many repeat guests or a first time visitor, you’ll find that a warm welcome awaits you at Blue Waters.

There are two sheltered sandy beaches, three swimming pools (one for adults only), a Jacuzzi, tennis court, fitness centre, complimentary WiFi and complimentary non-motorised watersports including kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and snorkelling. The fabulous Spa at Blue Waters offers a range of Elemis and Ila treatments and there is an activities programme which includes yoga, Pilates, and wine and rum tasting.

Hugely family friendly, there’s an extensive choice of accommodation for multi-generational holidays and a range of children’s activities from as young as five up to 12. From cricket to fishing and arts and crafts, the fully trained staff ensure the day is packed with fun and adventure. During high season the resort also organises evening activities for its younger guests, and provides a nanny and babysitting service. The Landings Resort & Spa, Saint Lucia

On Saint Lucia’s most breathtaking beach and with the island’s only private marina, this magnificent resort is almost a little world within itself. Offering spacious, family-sized accommodation, gourmet dining and all the facilities you would expect from a modern, luxury resort, the landings is also ideally located for all the superb restaurants and shops in the Rodney Bay area.

You would struggle to find a more perfect location anywhere in the Caribbean, with a jaw-dropping white-sand beach alongside a brilliant turquoise lagoon.
