The British Virgin Islands are a glorious cluster of some 60 secluded islands for those seeking relaxation and tranquillity, with little development apart from a handful of outstanding resorts – the tourist board justifiably calls the British Virgin Islands "nature's little secrets". Barefoot luxury is the order of the day and you'll find it hard to resist the crystal clear waters, whether it's for a spot of snorkelling, scuba-diving or sailing (which is amongst the best in the world).

Paul enjoyed a wonderful holiday in the British Virgin Islands: "The sheer natural beauty is breathtaking and my favourite memory is of exploring uninhabited coves and glorious beaches on my Boston Whaler dinghy – the reefs are so healthy and the water is so clear. I felt I was truly a million miles away from real life." Speak to Sarah too – she spent her honeymoon at Little Dix Bay.
There is one remaining inhabitant on Salt Island who still harvests salt from the salt ponds – one bag a year is sent to HM The Queen. The Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke is so-called as it is only accessible by swimming ashore with obvious results!
