When we started Caribtours in 1979, our first chosen destination was Jamaica – it had (and still has) some of the finest luxury resorts in the Caribbean. Almost 25 years on, there is still no doubt in our minds that Jamaica is the most vital and engaging of all the Caribbean islands; couple the welcoming and hospitable Jamaican people, culture, music, history, mountains, rivers, beaches and local food with the outstanding hospitality in fine resorts and you have an undeniably special and unique holiday experience. Whether you are looking for elegance or action, luxurious villas or charming inns, we have something very special for you in Jamaica.
We recommend taking a two-centre stay on Jamaica to experience all that it has to offer.

Ana particularly enjoys markets and has this advice: "The Ocho Rios and Montego Bay markets are great – a real flavour of Jamaican life but try to avoid cruise ship days when they can be more crowded." Francesca adds "The best beach is in Negril – enjoy a snack of jerk chicken at Rick's Café and watch the spectacular sunset from the cliffs. As with the markets, don't miss Dunn's River Falls but avoid cruise ship days – for those closer to Montego Bay, Mayfield Falls is a more tranquil alternative."
Jamaica was the first tropical country to enter the IOC Winter Olympics – the bobsleigh team's efforts inspired the film ‘Cool Runnings’. The only country in the world to have won Miss World more often than Jamaica is Venezuela.
