The southernmost of our choice of Caribbean islands, and just 30 miles off the coast of Venezuela, Tobago is a step back in time – it's laid back and the local people are both charming and welcoming. Together with its sister island, Trinidad, the rain forest supports abundant flora and fauna but Tobago also has the lion's share of beautiful beaches. It's comfortable without being manicured, slightly on the wild side yet blissfully tranquil at the same time. Whilst the advent of direct flights from the UK has opened up tourism, Tobago is still unspoilt. We have a wide selection of hotels and villas to suit most tastes and we are sure that you will love Tobago as much as the Caribtours' team does.

Rebecca recalls "One of my favourite memories is of our boat trip across to Little Tobago with some of the best snorkelling I've ever experienced and some fantastic birdlife. Lunch at Jemma's Treehouse was also very special." Gemma's favourite spot is Buccoo Reef for snorkelling and she recommends "Sunday School" at Buccoo – a vibrant street party every Sunday evening.
Tobago has changed hands over 31 times from local Amerindians to the British, French and Dutch. Goat racing is the most popular sport, mainly at Easter – the 'jockeys' race with the goats on leads behind them! The steel pan originates from Trinidad and was first introduced in 1945 for VE Day.
