We're thrilled to introduce South Africa to our diverse portfolio of luxury holidays.
Few places in the world encompass the staggering diversity South Africa is famed for. A trip here can take you from wine tasting amongst the rolling vineyards of Franschhoek to gazing in awe at the rugged beauty of the savannah as the orange hues of sunset throw their glow over the landscape.
We have some stunning new hotels and resorts to introduce, from sophisticated splendour in Cape Town, to calming retreats in the wilderness.
Belmond Mount Nelson, Cape Town
Belmond Mount Nelson is Cape Town's most iconic hotel, a sophisticated and stylish haven of good taste that first opened its doors back 1899. Mount Nelson's understated colonial style and exquisite gardens lend the hotel a real old-world elegance, but this is no museum; the luxurious accommodation, downtown location, and innovative cuisine mean this is still the place to stay in Cape Town.
- Prices start from £165 per person, per night including breakfast
Ulusaba, Sabi Sand Reserve
Voted the best resort in Africa by readers of Condé Nast Traveler Magazine, Ulusaba is Sir Richard Branson's exclusive private game reserve, situated in the wildlife-rich Sabi Sand region. Daily game drives will give you ample opportunity to try to spot all of the Big Five, plus dinner is served by candlelight as you listen to the sounds of nature drifting in from the reserve.
- Prices start from £625 per person, per night on all inclusive
We’ve also put together several itineraries that will help you make the most of this awe-inspiring country. Here's a sneak peek at one of our favourites:
Western Cape & Safari
This itinerary is a real all-rounder. Beginning your adventure in Cape Town, a city towered over by Table Mountain and fringed by the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, you’ll spend four nights at the elegant Belmond Mount Nelson, a hotel that first opened its doors in 1899. A private guide will accompany you as you journey up Table Mountain by cable car for a bird's-eye view of the city below. Your guide will also introduce you to the city’s diverse range of sights and attractions including the colourful Bo Kaap neighbourhood and the historic Greenmarket Square.
Moving on from Cape Town, you’ll head for the Cape Winelands, pausing for a few wine tastings along the way, before checking into Mont Rochelle. This charming thatched-roof property is set amongst 100 acres of winelands and based in Franschhoek, a town renowned for its culinary excellence.
True wilderness awaits you at your next destination – Ulusaba. Sheltered by a canopy of ancient trees, the property encompasses every modern luxury whilst allowing you to experience the sights and sounds of the Sabi Sand Reserve. Bring your camera and try to spot the Big Five as experienced game rangers guide you through the bush on daily walks and drives.
If that’s not enough, you can choose to extend your stay in Africa with a 2-night stay at Thorntree River Lodge in Zambia, close by to the thundering Victoria Falls.
