Set in the grounds of an 18th Century cocoa estate, Boucan by Hotel Chocolat is a place where luxury and pampering meet stunning natural beauty. The 140-acre Rabot Estate is the oldest on Saint Lucia but the resort accommodation is stylish and contemporary and offers every modern comfort. Cocoa growing is still very much a part of life here and guests are invited to experience the many chocolate-based activities on offer - tour the estate, enjoy a relaxing cacao massage or create your own bar of chocolate. Whatever you choose, a stay at Boucan is guaranteed to be a uniquely enjoyable experience.

Airport Transfer

45 minutes' drive from Hewanorra Airport.

Location

Set high in the hills of Saint Lucia's interior, 5 minutes from Soufrière.

Accommodation

There are just 14 lodges, each elegantly decorated and featuring a king size four poster bed, iPod docking station (complete with iPod pre-loaded with playlists inspired by the estate), an open-air rainforest shower, tea/coffee making facilities and daily chocolate treats. Standard Lodges are set around a relaxing garden courtyard whilst the more spacious Luxe Lodges are elevated above the courtyard and offer a private verandah with spectacular views.

Restaurants And Bars

Inspired by the rare cocoa growing on the Rabot Estate, Boucan restaurant offers a unique menu which explores both the sweet and savoury nature of cocoa. Combined with superb local produce grown on the estate and sourced from farms and fishermen in the Soufrière area, dining at Boucan is a real culinary treat, enhanced further by the restaurant’s spectacular setting.

Karen Boulton's View

OUR Luxury Holidays to Saint Lucia SPECIALIST

Hotel Chocolat owner, Angus Thirlwell, was inspired to buy a cocoa estate in the Caribbean after receiving a book from a customer about cocoa growing in the 1920s, and when he found the Rabot Estate it was love at first sight

The menu at Boucan restaurant is simply mouthwatering - it's impossible to pick a favourite dish but, if pushed, the yellow fin tuna with cacao pesto and the curried coconut and cacao chicken would be top of our list, finished off with a suitably chocolately dessert, of course!

If you don't know your cacao from your cocoa then we recommend the 'Tree to Bar' experience, where you can create your own delicious chocolate.
