Set high in the hills of Saint Lucia's interior, 5 minutes from Soufrière.

Accommodation

There are just 14 lodges, each elegantly decorated and featuring a king size four poster bed, iPod docking station (complete with iPod pre-loaded with playlists inspired by the estate), an open-air rainforest shower, tea/coffee making facilities and daily chocolate treats. Standard Lodges are set around a relaxing garden courtyard whilst the more spacious Luxe Lodges are elevated above the courtyard and offer a private verandah with spectacular views.

Inspired by the rare cocoa growing on the Rabot Estate, Boucan restaurant offers a unique menu which explores both the sweet and savoury nature of cocoa. Combined with superb local produce grown on the estate and sourced from farms and fishermen in the Soufrière area, dining at Boucan is a real culinary treat, enhanced further by the restaurant’s spectacular setting.

By day, relax at Club Boucan with its spectacular infinity pool and dramatic views of the Pitons, or explore the plantation and learn how local people are benefitting from Hotel Chocolat’s ethical approach to growing cocoa. The resort’s popular Tree to Bar experience even allows guests the opportunity to create their own chocolate. Cocoa is also on the menu at the hotel’s Cocoa Juvenate Spa, and the signature Full Cacao massage is highly recommended. A wide range of activities can be arranged further afield, such as rainforest hikes, scuba diving or trips to nearby beaches. A scheduled beach shuttle is available to spend the day at Malgretoute Beach, around 10 minutes drive away. Here there are sunloungers and watersports facilities available at a charge locally.

“The menu at Boucan restaurant is simply mouthwatering - it's impossible to pick a favourite dish but, if pushed, the yellow fin tuna with cacao pesto and the curried coconut and cacao chicken would be top of our list, finished off with a suitably chocolately dessert, of course!”
