Caribtours Caribbean Hot Chocolate
Seeing as it is so cold at the moment, we thought we would share with you our Caribtours Caribbean Hot Chocolate recipe so that you can bring a touch of the Caribbean to your home. Drawing inspiration from all the Caribbean islands this hot chocolate is a must try this winter, and when you can’t handle the cold anymore - we are here for you to book a holiday of a lifetime to this beautiful region.
400ml full-fat milk
100ml Fresh double cream
2 tbsp Molasses sugar
½ vanilla pod
1 cinnamon stick
¼ tsp freshly grated nutmeg
4 tbsp dark rum
For sprinkling on the Top
100ml Whipped Cream
1 tsp of freshly grated dark chocolate
2 tsp grated milk chocolate
Heat up the milk in a saucepan on a low heat, add the chocolate, cream and sugar and make sure that you keep stirring. De-seed the vanilla pod, and then add the seeds and the pod, cinnamon stick and grated nutmeg into the saucepan. Remove from the heat and allow to sit for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes reheat the milk and remove the cinnamon stick and vanilla pod – add the dark rum, decant into mugs and add the ingredients for sprinkling!
