The Nevis Mango and Food Festival ran for the first time this year and was a great success. Produced by the Nevis Tourism Authority, International Chefs such as Scott Higby from Austin Texas and Gregory Austin from Barbados were cooking up a mango storm at some of the island’s most prestigious restaurants and resorts, including Montpelier Plantation & Beach and the aptly named Mango restaurant at Four Seasons Resort. There was also a Mango Madness Street Fair held in the Capital City of Charlestown, where impressive cooking demonstrations took place.
Following all of the excitement, Davinia was invited to take part in an experiential event to launch the 2016 festival. The event was held at Aveqia, in London and guided by celebrity vegetarian chef Natasha Corrett. Davinia learnt how to cook and prepare a number of tasty mango infused dishes including spiced Dahl with mango chutney and mango cheesecake.
Natasha is looking forward to taking part in next year’s festival and will be serving up some culinary delights of her own.
