Nisbet Plantation

Once the home of Admiral Nelson’s wife, Fanny Nisbet, this charming property was originally built as a sugar plantation in 1778 and it remains the Caribbean’s only original plantation house to be located on a beach. Much of the grandeur and colonial charm remains and, naturally, there’s a croquet lawn to complete the picture of colonial good living. There are many other excellent facilities and you’ll certainly enjoy high standards of accommodation, service and cuisine.

Fiona's View

OUR St Kitts & Nevis SPECIALIST

Nisbet is one of the friendliest hotels we know - the staff here greet returning guests like old friends and first-timers are made to feel immediately at home.

Patterson, the Maître d’, is something of a legend at Nisbet Plantation - his latest venture is Patterson’s Pub Crawl, a fun Friday afternoon visit to the local rum shops where guests can enjoy a rum or a beer and meet the friendly Nevisian islanders.

Don’t miss the weekly gourmet barbecue - open to guests and locals, it’s a great night with live entertainment and fantastic food.

General Manager, Tim Thuell, returned to Nisbet Plantation in 2015, having spent 7 years working here in the 1990s - it’s obviously not just the guests who find this place irresistible.

Make sure you pack something white to wear to the resort’s legendary ‘White Night’ beach party - a lavish occasion, the beach is lit by tiki torches and a sumptuous buffet is accompanied by live Caribbean music.

Jumby Bay has some of the friendliest staff we’ve met anywhere in the Caribbean - guests here are assured of a warm welcome and the most attentive service.

We love the beautifully re-designed Estate House restaurant - inspired by the island’s rich history and traditions, the elegant interiors are complemented by some of the finest cuisine in the Caribbean.
