GETTING OUT & ABOUT

Fort Young

At the edge of a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Fort Young sits on the original site of a wooden fort built by the French in 1720. You’ll be warmly welcomed at this unpretentious hotel where the emphasis is on good food, comfortable accommodation and providing an ideal location for seeing and experiencing the best of Dominica. Although there’s no beach here, many of the rooms are right on the water and the oceanfront pool has a lovely sundeck where you can relax and soak up the sun.

OUR Dominica SPECIALIST

Fort Young is a charming, informal hotel with a fascinating history - some of the original stone walls date back to 1761 and the hotel takes its name from the island’s first British governor

We recommend upgrading to an Oceanfront Room for the extra space and dramatic setting, however the smaller Fort Rooms are great value for money and ideal if you are simply looking for a comfortable base from which to explore the island

Located just a short stroll from the centre of Roseau, be sure to explore the Old Market Plaza for souvenirs and local artwork

The food was excellent and could not be faulted in any way. The staff are very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them.
