Martinhal Sagres is a rare gem, a family resort that understands intimately the particular requirements of those travelling with children. Accommodation options range from the spacious rooms and suites of the main hotel to a collection of self-catering apartments, townhouses and villas. All rooms have a private balcony or terrace, and you can pre-reserve equipment including cots, baby baths and safety gates. The Apartments and Garden Houses are set around a communal free-form pool, while the Pinewood Houses each have a private pool. For larger groups, the Luxury Villas offer up to six bedrooms, private garden and a pool.
All restaurants are family friendly, with play areas and children’s menus, including fresh purées for babies. There is also a bakery and deli if you’re self-catering, and plenty of takeaway options.
Facilities include five swimming pools, with separate pools for babies and toddlers, a spa offering treatments for all ages, a gym, two tennis and Padel tennis courts, a watersports centre and five kids’ clubs. The resort
is a 90-minute drive from Faro airport, with plenty of beautiful beaches to explore nearby.
