Accommodation

All 260 rooms and suites have been given the full Anantara treatment, recently refurbished in a fresh and contemporary style. All rooms have air conditioning, a private balcony with day bed, bathroom with separate bath and rain shower, flat screen TV, iPod docking station, WiFi and a Nespresso machine. Choose between views of the gardens, pool or golf course, with interconnecting options available for families. The suites come with the services of a butler, and suite guests will also enjoy an exclusive daily à la carte breakfast at the Emo restaurant. The Victoria Suites have a separate dining area and a second bathroom, while the opulent Presidential Suite has a rooftop deck with sofa, loungers, dining table and a Jacuzzi, plus a Bang & Olufsen sound system and a lavish bathroom with whirlpool bath.

Restaurants And Bars

Emo is the signature restaurant, open for dinner only and offering gourmet Portuguese cuisine accompanied by a choice of more than 350 wines. The Victoria restaurant serves buffet breakfast and nightly themed buffet dinners, and Ria specialises in locally caught seafood, with the option to enjoy a casual lunch either by the pool or on the restaurant’s sunny terrace. The Anantara Lounge & Bar is the place for afternoon tea, cocktails, wine and tapas, and there are also two pool bars where the Sunshine Butlers will bring a chilled bottle of Veuve Clicquot direct to your cabana. Private dining can also be arranged at various locations around the resort.

Facilities

There are three outdoor swimming pools, including a kids’ pool and an adult-only pool, plus a heated indoor vitality pool complimentary for suite guests. The stunning Anantara Spa offers seven treatment rooms and a range of reviving therapies, and there is also a fitness centre, floodlit tennis court, direct access to the golf course and complimentary yoga, Pilates and Tai chi. Children are extremely well catered for, with a crèche for toddlers, a kids’ club for 4-11 yrs and The Hub for teens. There is also a football academy for children aged 5-14 yrs and a dance academy for 4-18 yrs. Babysitting is available on request, so parents will have ample opportunity to escape from the kids for a few hours and have some time to themselves!
