Accommodation

The resort’s 75 spacious villas are crafted from timber and sandstone to blend with their natural surroundings. All are equipped with air conditioning, a flat screen TV with a selection of movies, surround sound system, iPod docking station, complimentary WiFi, mini bar and a private verandah or sundeck furnished with sun loungers and a sofa or day bed. Deluxe Villas are dotted along the shorefront and feature an open-air bathroom with outdoor rain shower, while the Water Villas have an indoor bathroom with stunning ocean views. We recommend upgrading to a Baros Pool Villa or Water Pool Villa to enjoy your own private plunge pool set into the sundeck. The exquisite Baros Suites, on the eastern shore of the island, are a haven of seclusion and offer additional space with a separate lounge, an expansive sundeck with thatched gazebo, a private infinity pool and direct beach access. The one-bedroom Baros Residence, hidden away within a walled garden, comes with a larger private pool, dedicated butler service, a spacious sundeck with four poster day bed and beach access.

Restaurants And Bars

Buffet breakfast is served at the chic Lime, right by the lagoon, and the restaurant remains open for lunch and dinner, serving Asian-inspired dishes and seafood specialities from the grill. Cayenne’s al fresco deck provides an intimate dinner setting and offers teppanyaki and the finest steaks, while the striking over-water pavilion of The Lighthouse Restaurant makes for an unforgettable fine dining experience. After dinner, head upstairs to The Lighthouse Lounge for magical views out across the ocean, accompanied by weekly jazz and blues, and select a bottle from the extensive wine cellar. You can also enjoy a private dining experience on the beach or your villa deck.

The beautiful over-water pool at Lime makes this the central hub of the island. There’s also a well-equipped gym and an excellent dive centre with resident marine biologist. End the day with a romantic dinner on an isolated sandbank out in the lagoon or visit Serenity Spa, set within a tranquil garden and specialising in revitalising treatments from across Asia.

OUR Maldives SPECIALIST

"A firm favourite with the Caribtours team, the short transfer from Malé attracts many first time guests, but it’s the warmth of the welcome and the wonderful staff at Baros that keep visitors coming back year after year."

"We love the open-air bathrooms in the beach villas, just one of the many little touches that make this such a wonderfully romantic resort."

"There’s a vibrant house reef just offshore from Baros and for those interested in learning more about the underwater world, the resident marine biologist gives fascinating weekly talks on the diverse marine life that thrives here."

Coral Reef Club

Barbados

"‘Elegant, refined and understated’ - these are the words that Coral Reef Club’s many repeat guests use to describe this wonderful family-owned hotel."

"The Thursday night barbecue is out of this world and really shouldn’t be missed - the extraordinary culinary experience is followed by a floor show with limbo dancing and fire eating."

"The cottages here are all named after flowers, fruits and trees found in the hotel’s beautiful gardens - Head Gardener, Lloyd Richards, has worked at the hotel for nearly 30 years and his weekly horticultural tours are a real treat."

"Coral Reef Club is incredibly popular so make sure you book early, especially if you’re planning to visit in February."
