Grenada in a Glimpse: A Quick Whirlwind Through Paradise
Grenada might just be the Caribbean’s best-kept secret — and even on a short trip, it managed to impress at every turn. From boutique charm to barefoot luxury, here’s a quick rundown of our unforgettable stay on this vibrant, sun-kissed island.
Mount. Cinnamon – Boutique Beauty with Beachfront Charm
Our one-night stay at Mount. Cinnamon was brief, but oh-so-sweet. We stayed in the newly refurbished Cinnamon Suites — stylish, airy, and perfectly positioned with sweeping views over Grand Anse. These are ideal for couples wanting chic comfort without a steep uphill walk. The food was excellent — both dinner and breakfast were delicious, fresh, and full of Caribbean flavor. Don’t miss their BBQ night if you're around on a Friday! Plus, we had the pleasure of meeting owner Barrie Collymore, whose passion for the island truly comes through in the resort’s vibe.
Six Senses La Sagesse – Wellness with a Wow Factor
Staying at Six Senses is more than just a holiday — it’s a journey in self-care and conscious travel. From arrival rituals to reflective send-offs, this resort encourages you to slow down and reconnect. We stayed in a Panorama Ocean View Pool Suite, and it’s hard to overstate how spectacular it was — private plunge pool, huge bathroom, cozy lounging space, and panoramic views. Dining was exceptional, especially the new sushi concept, and private beach dinners are a must. This is a perfect pairing for a twin-centre escape — think luxury, serenity, and a total reset for mind and body.
Spice Island Beach Resort – Iconic, with a Hint of Change
There’s something timeless about Spice Island, even if we caught it during a transitional moment. The beachfront Seagrape Suites remain a favourite for their unbeatable location, while the pool suites at the back feel more secluded. The public areas are as beautiful as ever, and the live music at dinner adds a lovely touch. We’re hopeful the new leadership brings renewed energy and modern touches, especially in the spa and kids’ areas. Spice still holds a special place on the island — you just feel it the moment you arrive.
Calabash – Effortless Elegance and Heartfelt Hospitality
Calabash continues to shine as one of Grenada’s top luxury stays. Everything — from the service to the food to the ambiance — is thoughtfully done with care and quality. The Beach Club lunch menu was a standout, and breakfast in your suite is a wonderfully indulgent touch. The Garbutt family’s presence ensures the resort retains its warm, family-run charm, while ongoing investments keep things fresh and modern.
Sight Inspections & Hidden Surprises; We also toured several properties, each offering something unique:
Coyaba Beach Resort
Set on the iconic Grand Anse Beach, Coyaba is a family-owned resort with a loyal following. There’s a charming local story here. Guests return to Coyaba year after year, and once you've experienced the resort for yourself you'll understand why - relaxed and informal, the hotel offers a friendly welcome and an idyllic Caribbean setting.
Silversands Grenada
A design lover’s dream — Silversands is stunning, sleek, and ultra-modern. From the architectural details to the epic infinity pool, everything screams luxury. The rooms are faultless. That said, the resort does feel a bit quiet and lacks that signature Caribbean warmth. Perfect for those seeking a chic, serene escape.
Silversands Beach House
A newer addition, this boutique property is intimate and romantic, with beachfront suites that are pure bliss. We enjoyed an Italian-inspired dinner, and the nearby Aquarium and Laluna offer great dining alternatives. Expansion plans are underway, so we’re curious to see how it evolves!
Beyond the Resorts
Grenada showed off her best side during our trip: sunny skies, welcoming locals, and postcard-perfect landscapes. We had a fantastic stroll through St. George’s, where everyone felt safe and immersed in the island’s authentic energy. A private cruise along the coast gave us the only sunset of the week — golden skies, warm breeze, and plenty of laughter. We also visited Belmont Estate, a lovely spot for chocolate lovers and a great way to experience Grenada’s culture and agriculture.
Final Thoughts
Grenada may be small, but its diversity of experiences, hotels, and landscapes make it a true Caribbean gem. Whether you’re seeking tranquillity, romance, luxury, or just a beautiful place to slow down — Grenada has it all.
Until next time, Spice Isle. 🌴✨
