Accommodation

A minimalist, boutique look of warm, dark woods and natural-coloured fabrics has been combined, to luxurious effect, with modern amenities such as a flat screen TV with movies on demand, a Bose sound system, iPod docking station and complimentary WiFi. In addition, all 162 rooms and suites feature a mini bar which includes a complimentary selection of soft drinks, juices, water and beer, restocked daily. Serai and Serai Sea View Rooms are located in the three storey Serai Wing; those with sea views boast oversized windows with stunning views over the Gulf of Oman. Deluxe Rooms, in the one and two storey Chedi WIng, are slightly larger and feature a king size bed and comfortable seating area. It’s well worth considering a Deluxe Club Room or Chedi Club Suite for access to The Club Lounge, plus a complimentary full mini bar and in-room spirits. The Chedi Club Suites also offer more space with a separate living area, a bathroom with sunken marble bath and oversized rain shower and either a terrace with garden views or a balcony with sea views.

Restaurants And Bars

Dining is first class, with six restaurants and two lounges. The Restaurant serves Arabic, Asian, Indian and Western cuisine from four live cooking stations, with seating either in the elegant dining room or on an outdoor terrace, while The Serai Pool, The Chedi Pool and The Long Pool each offer a Cabana Bar and Restaurant for a more relaxed lunch or dinner. For dinner only, during the cooler months between September to May, The Beach Restaurant specialises in seafood and The Arabian Courtyard offers authentic Middle Eastern cuisine in a lovely al fresco setting.

The extensive wellness centre is a definite highlight, with signature Asian-inspired spa therapies, including aromatherapy, herbalism and Ayurveda, practised to sublime perfection in 13 spa suites. Separate men’s and ladies’ sauna and steam rooms, and a beautiful relaxation room overlooking the ocean complete this sanctuary of relaxation. A choice of three outdoor swimming pools, of which two are adult only, include the double-olympic-sized Long Pool which is surrounded by oversized double day beds, ideal for total relaxation. There’s also The Health Club, with all the latest Technogym equipment, two floodlit tennis courts, a wide beach and complimentary activities including yoga and Pilates. For golfers, two 18-hole courses are available nearby.
