There are just 150 suites, recently refurbished and re-imagined with soft pastel tones, light woods and woven wicker features. All suites have a private balcony, flatscreen satellite TV, WiFi, air conditioning, coffee maker, mini bar and in-room safe. The spacious Beachfront Suites are particularly popular, overlooking the lawn and white-sand beach, while some of the Penthouse Ocean Suites offer an extra dash of romance, with outdoor showers and bathtubs.
There are five restaurants and seven bars, giving you a huge amount of choice each day. Palazzina is a refined dining room open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving international bistro-style fare, while the Beach Grill is a casual feet-in-the-sand venue and Casanova harks back to a different era with its elegant decor, serving both Caribbean and international dishes. For fresh fruit juices, smoothies and healthy salads, swing by the Veggie Bar, situated next to the gym. You can also enjoy the privacy of in-suite dining, or a romantic dinner on the beach. There’s a Beach Bar, swim-up pool bar, martini bar and a piano bar with resident band and late night singalongs
The resort has four pools and three Jacuzzis, including the mineral pool, which is filled with water from a natural spring. The main beach is a lovely stretch of sand with plenty of loungers, and there is also a secluded ‘au naturel’ beach and pool area, with its own bar and grill restaurant. The spa offers soothing treatments, beauty services and couple’s massages, and there is also a fitness centre and sporting activities including tennis, aerobics, and unlimited green fees at the Upton Golf & Country Club. The watersports programme is extensive, with snorkelling, scuba diving, Hobie cat sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, windsurfing and waterskiing.
