Accommodation

24 simply-furnished but comfortable cabanas are dotted around the grounds, each with air-conditioning, a private shower, in-room safe and a terrace overlooking the pool or gardens. Follow a meandering path past the herb garden and yoga pavilion and you’ll find the Garden Rooms, tucked away in a tranquil spot just a stone’s throw from the Jacuzzi and relaxation areas. King size beds, high ceilings, wooden shutters and a natural skylight in the bathroom give these rooms a more secluded feel, perfect for couples or a solitary retreat. Pool Rooms are closer to the main pool, the restaurant and bar and have sliding glass doors that open up onto a private terrace. Some of these rooms can interconnect to create a spacious two bedroom suite.   

Restaurants And Bars

The open-air Kariwak Village Restaurant has an unmistakably Caribbean ambience and is renowned for its use of fresh, local herbs and produce. Lunch and dinner menus change daily and there are always vegetarian options available. Friday and Saturday are buffet nights with dinner accompanied by live music provided by the hotel’s own in-house band, the Kariwak Players.

Facilities

These include an outdoor Jacuzzi, swimming pool, library, TV room and lush tropical gardens with hammocks and quiet relaxation areas. The large, palm-thatched ajoupa is the focal point of the hotel and is where the complimentary classes in relaxation, yoga and Tai Chi usually take place. A host of other therapies and treatments are available at an additional charge, including reflexology, aromatherapy and ayurvedic massage therapies. The beach at Store Bay is a 5 minute walk away, or hire a bicycle and cycle there instead. The hotel also provides a complimentary daily shuttle to the beach at Pigeon Point, about 5 minutes’ drive away, where watersports such as sailing, windsurfing and snorkelling are available.

A charming holistic and spiritual retreat, this is the place to come to relax and recharge your batteries; if swinging in a hammock in the hotel’s peaceful gardens doesn’t do the trick, there are complimentary classes in relaxation, yoga and Tai chi.

If you like ‘real’ food, you’ll love Kariwak - the chefs here use fresh, local produce and you can really taste every ingredient in each dish; this is a great choice for vegetarians too.

You must take the shuttle to Pigeon Point at least once during your stay - it has a fabulous stretch of white sand beach as well as bars, restaurants and all the facilities you need for a fun day out.
