Location

On a hillside in the artists’ village of Deià on Mallorca’s north west coast, a 45 minute drive from Palma airport.

Accommodation

There are just 70 rooms and suites, plus a sumptuous villa. These are spread across three 16th Century manor houses and are individually designed in a rustic yet luxurious style. The rooms are full of local character, furnished with Mallorcan antiques and works of art, and come equipped with a TV, DVD player, iHome music system and WiFi. Some rooms and most of the suites also have a private balcony, terrace or garden, and the Executive Junior Suites and Exclusive Suites have a plunge pool. The spacious Presidential Suite boasts a large terrace, private pool and garden, while the three bedroom Villa, a former private residence, has its own kitchen, dining room, heated pool and barbecue.

Restaurants And Bars

El Olivo, one of Spain's finest dining venues, is an elegant and romantic restaurant, offering superb Mediterranean cuisine and an extensive wine list. Café Miró is a bar and bistro, open for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, and it’s a great spot for tapas or pre-dinner cocktails out on the terrace. There is also a more casual restaurant by the pool, and a Champagne breakfast is served daily at Son Fony.

There are 2 outdoor pools and a heated indoor pool, plus 2 tennis courts, a gym and a boutique. The award-winning spa includes a Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and six treatment rooms, some with an openair terrace. There is a regular shuttle service down to the waterfront at Cala Deià, as well as a complimentary 2-hour boat trip along the coast, and the hotel also offers tours by Vespa, mountain treks and classes in art and sculpture. The Smile Club organises activities for kids aged 4 yrs and over, including pottery workshops, cookery classes and donkey tours.

The mountain setting is sublime, and a far cry from the mass market beach resorts with which Mallorca is often unfairly associated.
