The 121 rooms and suites are divided between 11 low-rise blocks, designed to blend in with the surrounding mountains and vegetation. Décor is crisp and contemporary, with eye-catching features including red marble bathrooms, and all rooms have a private balcony or terrace, HD TV and WiFi. Deluxe Mountain View Rooms and higher categories also include a Nespresso machine, while the split-level Lighthouse Suite features a large terrace with outdoor Jacuzzi and the Observatory Suite has three separate terraces offering views of the mountains, port and sea. The magnificent Mar Blau Suite consists of a standalone casita perched on a rock amongst pine and olive trees, with a top-floor terrace with a barbecue, and a small private pool on the ground floor.

Restaurants And Bars

The Cap Roig restaurant is named after a type of fish that you’ll see on many local menus, and has a superb clifftop location, serving succulent seafood, fresh fish and traditional rice dishes. But it’s the sublime Es Fanals by Javier Soriano that steals the show, with an innovative Spanish fine dining menu that includes some of the tastiest tapas on the island. For something a little different, check out the Sunset Sushi Lounge, with its resident mixologists awaiting orders at the bar or the newly opened 180° lobby bar serving refreshing drinks set in a stunning surrounding amongst pines with views to Port de Soller and the Mediterranean Sea. There are also two pool bars where you can find refreshments and light bites, or you can chill out on the comfy Bali beds at the Tramuntana Terrace.

Facilities

The infinity pool is off-limits to the under-12s, making this a great spot for peaceful repose, but there’s also a family-friendly pool where kids can make a splash. A third pool is located within the award-winning Talise Spa, which also houses 10 treatment suites (including a Hammam suite) plus a sauna and hair salon. There is a well-equipped gym with personal trainers available, and regular classes including yoga and Pilates, plus a host of activities available in the local area, including trekking, mountain biking, climbing, snorkelling and scuba diving. Barbaroja’s Kids’ Club is complimentary for the first two hours per day, with activities including board games, story time and computer games. Port de Sóller village is about 20 minutes’ walk away, or there is a frequent complimentary shuttle service.
