Discover the newest jewel in the Uga portfolio: Uga Chena Huts, a luxurious and intimate safari retreat perfectly positioned for exploring Sri Lanka’s renowned Yala National Park. With just 14 individual cabins spread across seven acres, this boutique hideaway offers exclusivity, comfort, and an authentic wilderness experience.
Yala, in the island’s southeast, is famed for its incredible diversity of wildlife. Elephants, water buffalo, sloth bears, and the elusive leopard roam its varied landscapes, alongside crocodiles, turtles, and a wealth of bird species. Every stay at Uga Chena Huts includes guided safaris, bringing guests face-to-face with this spectacular wildlife.
The 71-square-metre cabins are a study in understated elegance, designed with natural materials and neutral tones to complement the surrounding wilderness. Each features a sitting room, bedroom, en suite bathroom, and a spacious outdoor deck with a 5-metre plunge pool—perfect for relaxing after a day on safari.
Dining is equally flexible and memorable. While the property’s stylish Basses Restaurant offers refined meals, the focus is very much on bespoke experiences. Guests can enjoy private dining in their own pavilion, or under the stars for an unforgettable evening immersed in the sounds and sights of the wild.
