There are 64 suites scattered amongst the gently swaying palm trees, including some right on the beach. The decor is fresh and funky, and all suites have a private balcony or terrace, air conditioning, WiFi, iPod dock, mini fridge and in-room safe. Some also have a private plunge pool, while others have access to a shared rooftop terrace and pool.

Culinary excellence is a common theme running throughout the hotel, with three superb restaurants. Ocumare, created by Michelin-starred chef, Mauricio Giovanini, showcases small plates inspired by Indian, Moroccan, Argentinian and Spanish cuisine, while 4 Fuegos is a grill restaurant with fish tacos to die for. Maresias focuses on raw food, including tiraditos, carpaccios and tangy ceviches. The impressive live music roster features genres ranging from flamenco to deep house, and the beach bar serves ice-cold cocktails during the day.

The jungle side of the property is home to the Yäan Wellness Energy Spa, which features a sauna, steam room, pools and pre-Hispanic indigenous treatments such as the invigorating temazcal sweat lodge. There are daily yoga sessions at the treetop studio overlooking the jungle canopy, and twice-weekly meditation classes. You can also borrow a bicycle to explore the local area, which offers activities including snorkelling, diving and horse riding.
